Rooms to Rent in Adamstown, Dublin

Adamstown is a planned town in west County Dublin, about 16 km from the city centre, south of Lucan and the N4 and north of the Grand Canal, in South Dublin County Council. It was the first planned town developed in Ireland since Shannon, built on a 220-hectare Strategic Development Zone designed so that schools, shops, parks and a railway station would all be within walking distance of new homes. Development began in 2005, slowed after the 2008 financial crisis and has since picked up again, with the population reaching around 10,000 by 2022.

Adamstown has its own station on the Kildare commuter line, opened in 2007, with trains to Heuston and through the Phoenix Park tunnel to Grand Canal Dock. It is also the starting point of the BusConnects C-spine, whose buses run through the city centre, and local routes link Adamstown with nearby suburbs.

The Crossings, a shopping centre beside the station, has supermarkets and local shops, Airlie Park has an all-weather GAA pitch, a cricket oval and tennis and basketball courts, and Tandy's Lane Park has walking paths and play areas, with Lucan village close by. Almost all of the homes were built after 2005, from houses to apartments, which makes Adamstown a good option for people who want a modern room with a direct train into the city.
